Never had a chance to exhibit your artwork? Looking for a place? The Union Gallery has a great opportunity for you!

All University of Maryland students are invited to exhibit their artwork in an upcoming exhibition at the Union Gallery, located in the Stamp Student Union.

This unjuried student exhibition will open on April 26th and run through May 12th. The exhibit will be on display during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Union, Maryland Day and Art Attack! One piece of artwork from the exhibition will be selected for purchase by the Union with a purchase award of $400.

Submissions are accepted from all UM students (not just art majors). That means all you architecture, journalism, theater, music, landscape architecture, English and yes, even Engineering students are encouraged to submit! The exhibition is also open to acts that can be performed in the Union Gallery, such as readings and musical performances. We will schedule the performances during the exhibition.

Registration and Submission:

Registration forms are due by April 15th. No late registrations will be accepted.
Return registration forms to the Art and Learning Center on the basement level of the Stamp Student Union

  • There is a limit of three (3) submissions per student and only one (1) piece is guaranteed entry in the show.
  • Artwork may not exceed five (5) feet in any dimension
  • Artwork must be finished work that is presented in a professional manner (i.e., mounted, framed or otherwise ready to hang or display). Please contact us if you have questions about this.
  • Please include directions for hanging or displaying.

    Return completed form to The Art & Learning Center on the Basement Level of Stamp Student Union

    Drop off artwork:

    Tuesday, April 19th or Wednesday, April 20th - 3:30 to 6:30 PM

    Exhibit Runs:

    Tuesday, April 26th to May 12th

    Opening Reception:

    Thursday, April 28th - 5 to 7PM

    Artwork pickup:

    Friday, May 13th or Monday, May 16th - 3:30 to 6:30 PM

    This is a University of Maryland sponsored exhibit. Artwork that does not meet the exhibition criteria including work that is not within the appropriate dimensions or that does not include acceptable hanging hardware will not be included. The University also reserves the right to exclude any artwork that is deemed inappropriate. The University is not liable for loss or damage to work submitted to this exhibition and is not responsible for work not picked up by May 16.
