The Hispanic Heritage Coalition serves as an umbrella organization and is made up of all Latino/a student organizations active on campus, as well as faculty, staff, and students at large. HHC strives to promote cultural awareness and education. Activities include the coordination of Hispanic Heritage Month programming every Fall. LSU provides students a place to express Latino culture at the University of Maryland. The LSU serves as a home away from home to students who may feel lost on a campus as large as College Park. Students are given the opportunity to meet other Latinos and form lasting friendships, as well as gaining a sense of familia. The LSU is also very focused with what its members have to say, so the overall feel and attitude of LSU reflects its constituents.

The Latina/o Graduate Student Association's mission is to provide a community for incoming and continuing Latina/o graduate students at the University of Maryalnd with the intent of increasing the recruitment and retention of Latina/o graduate students. UMD Salsa

We are an organization committed to giving Latin dance lessons. Our main area of focus is Salsa. However, there will be occasions where we teach merengue, bachata, and cha-cha-cha. Lessons are given weekly. The club also holds try outs for a performance team every semester so that this performance team can represent the UMD Salsa Club in on and off campus events.
