Graduate school can be a lonely and isolating experience.
In order to facilitate interaction beyond the department level,
Graduate Student Life sponsors several programs that allow graduate
students to meet and socialize across-disciplines. We believe that
graduate students need to have a life outside of academics. For

GSL Sponsored Programming
Monthly Grad Social Series
Each month, Graduate Student Life runs a low-cost trip to an event
in the D.C./College Park area. Select the above link to learn more
about upcoming events.
Lyceum Dinner Series
Series of 2 dinners each semester with free dinner and panel discussion
on issues that affect graduate student quality of life on campus
and beyond.
Graduate Family Programming
Each semester, Graduate Student Life sponsors programs geared toward
graduate student parents and their children. Past events include
a summer pool party, a Halloween pumpkin painting party and a graduate
parents forum.
Classic Film Series
Graduate Student Life and the Hoff Theater showcase a free classic film at 7 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Other Social Programming
Graduate Pub (Happy Hour)
Weekly social event, held on Fridays and open to all graduate students (food, music and drink specials). The event is sponsored by Graduate Student Government.
GSG
Sponsored Graduate Organization Events
The Graduate Student Government maintains a calendar of graduate
organization events funded by graduate
activity fees. These events are open to the entire graduate
student community.
